Jackson Introduces Mini-Scale JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1XM

Jackson JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1XM

Jackson has scaled things down about with their latest Concert bass – literally. The JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1XM has a scale of 28.6 inches, which is tiny compared to the standard scale of 34 inches. It’s aimed at “aspiring kids just starting out on bass to seasoned low-end players looking for a fun and easy-traveling instrument,” Jackson writes.

The Concert Bass Minion is built with a poplar body, maple neck with graphite reinforcements, and a maple fingerboard holding 22 jumbo frets. Jackson’s signature shark fin inlays help to mark the fret positions. For electronics, the company loaded the body with their P/J pickup set with a volume/volume/tone control layout. Hardware includes a hardtail bridge and sealed die-cast tuners.

The Jackson JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1XM comes in a new Snow White finish with black hardware. It will be available soon with a street price of $189.

I bought one of these a couple years ago, not exactly new, but it is great for traveling – don’t get any complaints carrying it on. Sounds great, but the tuners are crap.
