Tool Releases New Album, Announces North American Tour
It’s finally here. Fear Inoculum is Tool’s first album in 13 years, and it does not disappoint. It has all the epic songwriting and hypnotic, odd-time riffs that fans love. That includes more top notch playing from bassist Justin Chancellor.
Once again, his lines serve as the hook for several of the songs. “Pneuma,” “Invincible,” and “Descending” in particular feature those classic Tool breakdowns where the bass sets up the next riff or section. Fans will also be taken for a trip on the psychedelic “Chocolate Chip Trip” and “Mockingbeat.”
Check out Chancellor’s signature style on “Pneuma”:
As if that wasn’t enough good news, Tool announced a round of North American tour dates for the fall. The quartet will begin October 13th in Sacramento at the Aftershock Festival and work their way across the continental U.S. and into Canada. Their final date is scheduled for November 25th in Washington, D.C. Tool will be joined by Killing Joke, featuring bassist Martin “Youth” Glover, for the outing.
Fear Inoculum is available now as a specialty CD package and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3) with a vinyl package on the way.
