Sofia Rei & Jorge Roeder: Callejon de un Solo Caño

I can’t stop watching this video.

Jorge Roeder is an amazing jazz bassist in New York City, but he still has a love for the music from his native Peru. Here’s an incredible clip of him performing “Callejon de un Solo Caño” with vocalist Sofia Rei.

The duo is an incredible match as Roeder’s bass line perfectly lays out the harmony and intricate rhythms while Rei’s passionate vocals soar over top. Their doubled lines are jaw-dropping.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
