Fodera Unveils Masterbuilt Gothic Stained Glass Bass

Fodera has unveiled the latest in their one-of-a-kind Masterbuilt series with a bass called “Gothic Stained Glass.” The bass gets its name from its design features.

“Inspired by an old Gothic church in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Masterbuilt – Gothic Stained Glass utilizes our Monarch shape as a canvas for its stunning design,” the company explains. “The body inlay alone is comprised of 44 pieces of Mother of Pearl, Olive, and Madrone Burl which are framed with Ebony over a Holly top. Patterned after ornamental Acanthus leaves, the 12th Fret inlay and custom truss rod cover continue the motif all the way to the headstock.”

Fodera built the bass with a roasted ash body, ebony fingerboard, and a three-piece oak neck with a maple center. Similar to the Masterbuilt Cherry Blossom, the Gothic Stained Glass features a single Fodera / Duncan Dual Coil pickup, which is situated in the middle of the “glass,” and forgoes their standard preamp in favor of passive electronics.
