Pearl Jam Announces New Album, North American Tour

Pearl Jam

Big news for Pearl Jam fans: the band has announced their 11th studio album, Gigaton, will be released on March 27th. They’ll also be touring North America in support of the record.

Gigaton will be their first studio album since 2013’s Grammy-winning Lightning Bolt. Bassist Jeff Ament began hinting at it as far back as last January in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying “We’ve gone in probably four or five times in the last couple of years, so we have a whole ton of unfinished stuff.” While we don’t know much about the album yet, a press release from the band included a statement from guitarist Mike McCready.

“Making this record was a long journey,” he explains. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness, and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

The band’s tour will begin March 18th at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. After four dates in Canada, they’ll perform twelve nights across the U.S. with back to back nights in both Los Angeles and Oakland, California to finish up.

We’ll keep you updated with details as they become available.
