Victor Wooten VixCamps

Each year, Victor Wooten puts on numerous camps at Wooten Woods in Only, Tennessee for music and nature education. Registration is now open for the 2020 camps, which range from April to September.

This year kicks off with a Jam Camp from April 24th to the 26th, followed by the original Bass/Nature Camp on June 23rd through the 28th. “This one-of-a-kind program is specifically designed to provide you with new insights, ideas, techniques, knowledge, and courage to play Music the way you’ve always wanted,” the VixCamps website states. “Join Victor and his team of expert instructors for an unprecedented enjoyable and educational experience. With twenty years under our belt, this will be the biggest and most powerful Bass/Nature Camp yet.”

Other camps include the Rhythm Camp (June 29-July 2), Teaching About Teaching (July 6-8), 2020 Vision (July 9-12), Music/Nature Jr. Camp (July 29-August 2), Music/Nature Camp (August 11-16), Music Theory 3-Day (August 26-28), and Spirit of Music Camp (August 29-September 2). Each camp has different instructors, though a core group of teachers include Wooten, Steve Bailey, Anthony Wellington, and Dave Welsch as well as many other instrumentalists. Wooten often brings in cream-of-the-crop guests like Christian McBride, Mike Gordon, Esperanza Spalding, Edgar Meyer, Felix Pastorius, and many more.
