TC Electronic Announces the Plethora X5 Pedal Board
TC Electronic’s TonePrint technology has allowed users flexibility in their pedals by beaming presets and tweaking parameters. So far it’s been available for most of their pedal types, but now they’ve created a device that centers around the technology called the Plethora X5.
The new floor unit has spaces to load in five effects at a time to create up to 127 boards. Each of the spaces can be populated with any of the company’s TonePrint pedals, and each of those can be loaded from their library or your own version of the effect. “All the well-known TC effects like Flashback Delay and Hall of Fame Reverb are onboard as well as our pitch effects, modulation, compression and much more!” the company explains.
In addition to utilizing any of the TonePrint effects, the unit has an FX insert loop to let you put your favorite external pedals into the signal chain. Each of the five footswitches uses the company’s expressive MASH footswitches. “MASH lets you control up to 3 effect parameters at a time by how much pressure you put on the switch,” they explain. “But if that’s not enough, Plethora X5 also features an EXP input to let you hook up your favorite expression pedal.”
