Nervosa Announces New Lineup

Mia Wallace

The all-female Brazilian thrash metal band Nervosa has had a major shakeup in their lineup. Bassist/vocalist Fernanda Lira and drummer Luana Dametto left the band last month for personal reasons, leaving Prika Amaral as its sole member. Now the guitarist has made the band into a quartet featuring vocalist Diva Satanica, drummer Eleni Nota, and bassist Mia Wallace.

“The choice to be a quartet was to give Nervosa a fresh approach and show something different,” the band stated on Facebook. “This is a new phase, a new Nervosa, but still with its thrash/death essence intact, with riffs with a lot of downpicking and strong grip, fast and technical drums, a renewed, heavier, bass sound and aggressive and super thrash metal vocals. A second guitarist is still an option, but not for the current moment where it involves a lot of adaptation and a huge challenge in logistics, but for the future it is very possible.”

Wallace formerly played with Abbath and Triumph of Death in addition to currently playing for Kirlian and Niryth. She shared the post saying, “It’s a huge honor for me to join Prika Amaral in her super ban Nervosa! Strength and power to us!”

The band says that they have started working on new music and as soon as live events can happen again, they will be going on tour.
