Steve Bailey and Victor Wooten to Host Free Webinar on Gender Justice

Gender Justice

Steve Bailey and Victor Wooten are continuing their weekly free webinar series this Friday, June 5th at 4pm Eastern. The meeting topic is “Gender Justice…Empowerment, Enlightenment, and Education,” and as such it will include some of the best female musicians around: Terri Lyne Carrington, Allison Miller, Rhonda Smith, Linda Oh, Divinity Rox, Nikki Glaspie, and Susan Hagen.

“Leading Instrumentalists and Educators discuss Gender Bias and Stereotyping in the music industry, and how they have adapted, conquered, and innovated despite the obstacles of the past and present,” the description reads. “These renowned and Grammy-winning bassists and drummers have been the pulse for stylistically diverse artists from Wayne Shorter and Pat Metheny, to Prince, Beyonce, and the Boston Symphony.”

The webinar is brought to you by the Berklee Bass Department and TheBassVault.com. It is free to join, but you have to register ahead of time via the Berklee Campus Zoom page.
