Orlando le Fleming: Waynes

Orlando le Fleming has a new album coming out in September called Romantic Funk: The Unfamiliar that pays tribute to “the high-intensity fusion of the 1980’s.” As bassists, we know that the era was filled with cool grooves and bass lines, so it promises to be a record worth buying.

Le Fleming posted this studio performance ahead of the album for his song “Waynes,” which pays homage to both Wayne Shorter and Wayne Krantz. Check out his syncopated bass line that helps to propel the groove:

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
