Fodera Unveils “Joey Standard Special” Bass
Fodera has unveiled a new bass in its Standard series. Although it’s built-in batches like the rest of the line, the “Joey Standard Special” has a personal touch from their team.
“This unique Emperor Standard Special was designed to honor one of our founding partners, the one and only, Joey Lauricella!” the company writes. “It combines our coveted Standard specs with some of Joey’s most beloved tone-wood combinations. Joey has played thousands of gigs with this particular recipe of specs and they will certainly help to achieve the sound you are looking for, regardless of the situation you find yourself in. We hope you love this model as much as we do!”
The bass is crafted with an ash body finished in a “signature” transparent cream. Its three-piece quartersawn hard rock maple neck holds 22 frets on its birdseye maple fingerboard. For electronics, Lauricella chose Fodera/Duncan retrospec’d JJ pickups in a 70s spacing matched to a Fodera standard 3-band preamp. An optional ramp is available.
Get the full scoop from Fodera’s Mike Bendy and Lauricella himself.
