Solar Guitars Unveils the AB2 Bass

Solar Guitars AB2.5 RB Bass

Solar Guitars has announced their first bass model with the Type AB2 Series. The line includes three variations: the AB2.4 BOP, the AB2.5 AN, and the AB2.5 RB. Solar says the AB2 is designed “for the modern metal bass player with high-quality expectations at an affordable price.”

“These Type AB2 series bass guitar boasts stealth looks, a distinctive cutaway scoop, and a remarkable feature set, making it a precise, professional instrument suitable for both stage and studio work,” they write. “It comes loaded with a reliable high mass bass bridge with enhanced sustain and two Solar soapbar dual-coil pickups and preamp system with volume, balance, bass, and treble control that provides deep and rich lows and punchy midrange.”

The AB2.4 is a four-string bass in a black open pore finish, while the AB2.5 versions are five-strings that come in aged natural matte and roasted brown matte finishes. The four-string bass has a 34-inch scale and the five-string basses have a 35-inch scale. Common features include a five-piece maple and jatoba neck, an ebony fingerboard, and 24 super jumbo frets.

The Solar Guitars AB2 Basses are available for pre-order with prices ranging from $699 to $899.
