Solar Guitars Adds Two New Type AB Basses

Solar Guitars AB1.4ROP Bass

Solar Guitars has added a pair of new basses to its lineup with the AB1.4ROP and the AB1.5BOP. The new models are described as the top tier of the Type AB Bass range.

“Both models include powerful EMG DCX pickups coupled to a BQS preamp working at 18V for maximum headroom and dynamics,” Solar writes. “An impressive array of electronics control is onboard with volume, balance, bass, treble plus concentric midrange control with separate gain and frequency, to precisely dial in your perfect tone. Finally, maximum raw punch and sustain is ensured by the high mass bridge from Hipshot.”

The basses are four- and five-strings, respectively, and are each built with a swamp ash body, five-piece maple and jatoba neck, and an ebony fingerboard. Their electronics include a pair of EMG pickups with a BQS preamp system. The AB1.4ROP comes in a Blood Red Open Pore Matte finish, while the AB1.5BOP has a Black Open Pore Matte finish.
