Fender Unveils Limited Edition Boxer Series Precision Bass
Fender wrapped up 2020 with the introduction of the limited edition Boxer Series. Made in Japan, the lineup includes a Precision Bass model that comes in Sherwood Green Metallic or Torino Red.
“The Made in Japan Boxer Series recreates a classic Fender collection from the late ‘80s,” the company explains. “Designed for high-performance players, each Boxer Series instrument comes equipped with high-output pickups, speedy necks and advanced electronics.”
The Boxer Precision’s pickups include a split coil and a single coil with independent volume controls. Fender also includes the TBX (Treble Bass Expander) tone control for “super flexible sonic options.” Other features include a medium “C”-shaped neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 20 jumbo frets, and a black headstock.

Ehhh? -Nothing much new here methinks… V+V+T controls on a PJ bass been done so very very often, and often not quite as expensive either. Just another rather generic, rather expensive Fender. Ho hum, -better off with a Squire IMO…
Great specs on these. And being a Fender Japan instrument, the fit and finish will likely be superior to it’s similar counterparts. Gotoh tuning machines, 12 inch radius, and a real bone nut also make it very appealing to me. I look forward to getting my hands on one.
