Canadian Armed Forces Long Distance Big Band: The Chicken

Bassist Simon Paré sent us this video of a very ambitious performance. Simon got together members of the Canadian Armed Forces Big Band and created an entirely virtual video performance of “Soul Intro” and “The Chicken”, which of course was performed by Jaco Pastorius and his big band.

“I’m really proud of this project we made early in the 2020 pandemic with musicians (Army, Navy Air Forces) from the 6 full-time band of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). We were able to make some magic on this one, every one recording at home. this band never played live together, hopefully, some day! I had to fill out Jaco big shoes (or hands!) on this one! [I’m] using my good old 1998 MIJ Fender Jazz Bass Fotoflame!”
