Spector Introduces NS Dimension and NS Ethos Basses
Spector Musical Instruments is starting 2021 by launching two new series of basses: the NS Dimension and the NS Ethos. Both instruments are modern takes on their NS body shape with the Dimension featuring a multi-scale neck and the Ethos having updated finishes and electronics.
“The NS Dimension Series and NS Ethos Series represent the future of Spector,” says John Stippell, Global Brand Manager for SMI. “Taking cues from our flagship USA Series, these models feature premium materials combined with incredible new finishes and premium electronics. These new instruments will allow bassists to reach greater heights with their playing.”
Available in Haunted Moss Matte or Super Faded Gloss finishes, the NS Dimension comes in a four-string version with a 34” to 36” scale or a five-string with a 34” to 37” scale. Each has a fully contoured NS body made from lightweight ash that’s topped with poplar burl as well as a five-piece maple and wenge neck. The 24-fret wenge fingerboard has offset inlays with a Spector logo at the 12th fret as well as Luminlay side dots. Other features include Fishman’s Fluence pickups and preamp, a brass nut, and neck-through construction.
The NS Ethos features a similar NS body shape but has a maple core with its poplar burl top. The three-piece maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with inlays similar to the Dimension. It is loaded with a pair of Aguilar pickups as well as the OBP-2 preamp for tonal versatility. Spector finishes them in either Interstellar or a Super Faded Black high gloss.
The Spector NS Dimension and NS Ethos will be available internationally early this year. The Dimension carries prices of $1,999.99 for 4-string models and $2,099.99 for 5-string models. The Ethos will go for $1,799.99 for 4-string models and $1,899.99 for 5-string models.
