Bailey, Wooten, and Patitucci to Host Saxophone Masters Roundtable

Berklee Bass Department Saxophone Summit

Each week, the Berklee Bass Department gets into all things bass with hosts Steve Bailey, Victor Wooten, and John Patitucci. Their next segment, however, will have the trio talking shop with some of the world’s best saxophonists. Of course, their angle of conversation will benefit us low-enders.

“The masters of woodwinds have played for some of the greatest acts and artists in the world, eventually emerging as leaders and innovators in their own right. As leaders they hire bassists and among many other things, we will learn why they hire who they do. What skills are needed? What non-musical skills are important,” the discussion’s description says. “Join Kirk Whalum, Tia Fuller, Chris Potter, Bill Evans, Eric Marienthal, Grace Kelly, Walter Smith III, and Jeff Coffin as we explore their careers and how it could impact YOURS.”

The “Saxophone Masters” discussion will be held via Zoom on Thursday, March 11th at 1 pm Eastern. Attendance is free and open to the public, but you must register ahead of time via the Berklee Zoom online campus.
