Phil Jones Bass Unveils the Bass Cub Pro Bass Amp
Phil Jones Bass has beefed up their popular Bass Cub bass amp with the new BG-120, aka the Bass Cub Pro. The ultra-compact design features a completely redesigned power section that can deliver 120 watts to the internal speakers and up to a total of 240 watts when paired with an extension cabinet.
“Together with PJB’s Chrome-Dome speaker technology it provides far greater transient
attack from improved loudspeaker cone acceleration, greater dynamic range, and lower harmonic distortion,” the company adds. “It will provide increased headroom and speed to capture every nuance of bass playing, from gentle fingerstyle to hardcore slapping.”
The Bass Cub Pro’s preamp section has a five-band EQ section complete with Low Bass, High Bass, Mid-Range, Low Treble, and High Treble Controls, each with +/- 18dB of boost or cut. The input has a three-position switch for going between active and passive basses as well as a mute position. Other controls include an effects loop with a mix knob, an auxiliary input with a level control, and a master volume. A headphone input allows for silent practice.
The Phil Jones Bass Cub Pro will be shipping later this month with a street price of $699.99.

i wonder if allready is one ‘extension cabinet’ with a 15″ or even 18″ (floor ‘tsunami’) for a moving air wall ~ to fill the room with pleasure!
I’m still working with an old Polytone and searching for a ‘sidekick’. On big rooms and groups, winth one Ampeg b115 with Altec L.+ second JBL 15″ -(Once, without place enough i used one 12″ als second speaker -but the Ampeg got to hot -and i don’e dear to risk)-
