Fodera Unveils 2021 Anniversary Bass Model

Fodera 2021 Anniversary Monarch 5 Bass

Fodera is celebrating their 38th year in business with a special 2021 Anniversary model, which is a take on their Monarch Elite. The bass features a walnut body with a Zebrawood top to recall some of their earliest designs.

“For this year’s anniversary, we took a time-machine back into the past to reflect and gain inspiration for this year’s model,” the company writes. “We revisited old advertisements found in our archives from our very first years of business, which showcase original models that would eventually evolve into the world-renowned instruments you know today. Utilizing some of these very specs as inspiration, we put together a model that celebrates our tradition and gives you the opportunity to own a truly unique piece of Fodera history.”

In addition to the walnut body, the bass has an alder tone block, three-piece maple neck, and Pau Ferro fingerboard with tulip inlays. It’s fitted with a pair of Fodera Duncan Dual Coil pickups and a Fodera/Pope custom 3-band preamp. Finally, Gotoh tuners and a Fodera bridge round out the hardware.

The Fodera 2021 Anniversary Monarch Elite comes in a four-string version for $8,800 and a five-string version for $9,550.
