Damnation Audio Introduces the Curmudgeon 2 Bass Amp Distortion Pedal

Damnation Audio has unveiled a new distortion pedal for bass players called the Curmudgeon 2. The company calls it a “solid-state power amp (lead sled) distortion that takes your incoming signal, multiplies it by 1000, and slams it into a simulated power amp.”

Its simulated power amp section has parallel stages that are mixed and loaded down like “a power amp struggling to breathe,” they add. This offers multiple stages of coloration and distortion.

The Curmudgeon 2 has Gain, Level, and Tone controls as well as a Depth switch that sets the amount of low end injected into the distortion stages. Flipping it down delivers a brighter tone while the up position thickens things up.
