Tsunami Cables Unveils V-15 Preamp
Tsunami Cables has expanded its product lineup by getting into the world of studio preamps. The V-15 is their brand new, all-tube Class A preamp that features two blend-able channels. Designed by Bruce Egnater, the pre is inspired by the iconic B15 bass amp.
“Channel 1 (top channel) is inspired by the early 60s design and utilizes a 6SL7 tube,” Tsunami explains. “Channel 2 (bottom channel) takes a nod from the early 70s with a 12AX7 tube. Each channel has independent treble and bass controls, as well as high boost and high cut switches.”
The V-15’s front panel also has an instrument-level thru output and a stereo headphone jack. Its rear has an XLR balanced DI (complete with -20dB pad and ground lift switches) and a 1/4-inch line-level output. Tsunami added a true bypass mode option In which the front thru output is not affected by the preamp. “Bypass can be achieved by either the rear bypass switch or an optional momentary foot-switch,” they write.
The Tsunami V-15 Preamp weighs 6.5 pounds and measures six inches wide by four-and-a-half inches tall. It’s available for pre-order now and is expected to ship in July.
