Highs & Lows Music: Everybody Wants to Rule the World

No Treble reader Brandon Trent sent us this video of the husband-and-wife duo, Highs & Lows Music. Bassist Richard Gaspard, and his wife, vocalist Daphne, recorded their unique take on the Tears for Fears tune, “Everybody Wants to Rule The World”.

“This song is as relevant today as when it was released back in 1985, and it was a pleasure to recreate!” the duo shared. “Keeping with our tradition, we added in some harmonies that didn’t exist before and tried to give it a new feel. By creating some differing textures between the bowed and plucked upright parts, we set up the song’s iconic keyboard pad sound in a way that was more subdued under the lead vocal. Also, making its debut on the channel is Richard’s 1965 Fender Precision, his 50th birthday present to himself.”
