Song Premiere: Joshua Crumbly’s “C.S.C”

Bassist, producer, and songwriter Joshua Crumbly is gearing up to drop his second full-length solo album, entitled ForEver, on October 8th. The bassist, who provides low notes for artists like Kamasi Washington and Leon Bridges, began the project as a totally solo bass effort but became compelled to branch out and add other instruments as well as guest artists.

Today, we’re proud to help premiere the song “C.S.C” from ForEver. The down-tempo track exudes an atmosphere with the bass used in different roles.

“It was fun exploring the ‘role’ of the bass and gently questioning its tradition at times,” Crumbly tells us. “I’m looking forward to continuing on with expressing with the instrument in different ways. Jay Bellerose is on drums and really added to the experience in a beautiful way. Hope this song takes you somewhere beyond.”

ForEver is available for pre-order through Bandcamp and pre-saving on Spotify and Apple Music.
