Lee Sklar Auctioning Bass for Charity

Leland Sklar with Dingwall Signature bass

Leland Sklar is known for his amazing playing as well as his big heart. The legendary session bassist is showing that once again by auctioning off one of his basses to benefit the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.

The instrument is a Dingwall Lee Sklar Signature bass in a custom gold finish. Specs include an ash and alder “dual density” body, a 5-piece maple neck, a Glockenklang 3-band EQ, and 24 fanned mandolin frets. Sklar also signed the back of the headstock.

Listen to Sklar play through “Another Day In Paradise” on the axe and talk more about the auction:

“This is one badass piece of equipment and to have it up for auction with the proceeds going to the elephant sanctuary, it just doesn’t get any better than that,” Sklar adds. “Let’s start the bidding!”

The bass is up for auction now on eBay.

I am so happy to have “discovered” Leland Sklar! I was raised with music and what a treat it is to learn about a person who has had so much to do with it. From Linda Ronstadt to Warren Zevon and so many more. He speaks of his life with so much humility. Bless him! Lisa Weissenborn
