Origin Effects Unveils BassRIG Super Vintage and ’64 Black Panel Bass Pedals

Origin Effects BassRIG Super Vintage and ’64 Black Panel Bass Pedals

Origin Effects has launched two new bass pedals with the BassRIG Super Vintage and the BassRIG ’64 Black Panel. The units are overdrive and preamp pedals that center around the company’s Analogue Amp Recreation circuitry.

“With an entire valve amp circuit recreated in miniature, clean blend and an analog cabinet-simulated DI output, each of these pedals puts big amp tone on even the smallest of pedalboards,” Origin writes.

The BassRIG Super Vintage is based on the Ampeg SVT and its 8×10 speaker cabinet. Sporting a blue and silver chassis, the pedal has Output, Blend, and Drive controls as well as a three-band EQ. The midrange has a switch to toggle between 800Hz, 220Hz, and 3kHz bands while another switch gives Ultra Hi and Lo-Cut shelving.

The BassRIG ’64 Black Panel pays tribute to the Fender Showman and Bassman amps with their 2×15 cabs. It has the same knob layout but trades out the midrange switch for the voicing switch that goes between the Black panel era and the Tweed era. It also has a Bright/Fat switch for more tonal options.

Both pedals have Origin’s proprietary Amp Out EQ filter, which they say “ensures compatibility with any amp and cab, while the XLR-equipped DI output’s analog cabinet simulator provides a huge and authentic tone direct to your mixing console.”

Origin Effects is also celebrating the release by offering their Cali76 Compact Bass Compressor in the matching Super Vintage Blue and ’64 Black Panel finishes. The Origin Effects BassRIG Super Vintage and ’64 Black Panel are made in the UK. They’re available now for $489.
