Origin Effects Brings the Legendary “Pultec Trick” to the EQDELUXE Pedal
Origin Effects is paying tribute to the legendary Pultec EQP-1a with a new pedal called the EQDELUXE Studio Equalizer and Drive. The new unit is optimized for bass and guitar while recreating the “Pultec Trick” with both boost and cut controls on the Low Frequency Band. The effect adds “instant low-end weight and clarity.”
“The EQDELUXE is a bass player’s dream. It’s a wonderfully hefty studio tone that we’ve all heard on hit records and now it’s available in a pedal” says Origin Effects Product manager, John Dines. “It’s not just about the Pultec Trick either. We’ve captured the saturation, warmth and musical EQ shapes that make the Pultec such an enduring and inspiring classic. Sometimes we can think of EQs as utilitarian, but this one is properly exciting!”
It also has a Mid Frequency Band and a High Frequency Band for total tonal shaping. Origin recreated the Pultec’s unique output stage using solid-state circuitry to deliver tube-like saturation from the 1950s.
