Eric Avery Appears to Rejoin Jane’s Addiction

Jane’s Addiction has a surprise for you, or maybe two. The band is apparently working on new music after they posted a recent clip from the studio. That clip included former member Eric Avery tearing it up on the bass.
The video shows Avery jamming with vocalist Perry Farrell singing in the background. Unfortunately, the clip’s audio is just feedback to hide the actual music.
The video was posted with no explanation and there has been no official announcement. However, Avery posted a photo from the studio on his own Instagram with a statement that seems to confirm his return.
“Today marks the end of our current sessions. Four promising new song ideas,” he wrote. “Big thanks to you all for all the kind words of support. It leaves me feeling inspired. Honestly. It produces the best kind of pressure, your passion leaves me determined to do all I can for Jane’s Addiction.”
Avery was with the band from its inception through its first breakup in 1991. He would rejoin the fold in 2008, leaving again in 2010. Chris Chaney has held the bass chair since 2011.
Jane’s Addiction is slated to join Smashing Pumpkins on tour this fall.
