Jane’s Addiction Members Tease New Music—But Without Perry Farrell

Jane’s Addiction’s on-stage meltdown this summer quickly put an end to their reunion tour featuring their first run with the original members in 14 years. Now it looks like the band is working together again, seemingly without vocalist Perry Farrell.
Eric Avery broke the news in an Instragram reel. He posted a clip of himself tracking bass in a home studio to drums with the caption, “Writing some more new lines to some of Stephens drumming. Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025!”
Farrell is the only member of the band not mentioned in the post, and there is no allusion to his or any other singer for the track. Avery, drummer Stephen Perkins, and guitarist Dave Navarro made a joint post in September following Farrell’s physical assault of Navarro during a concert in Boston.
“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” they wrote. A hiatus was confirmed shortly after.
While we don’t know the extent of the new music, Avery’s clip shows a lot of potential for some great music. Fans are hoping for this to be a continuation of Deconstruction, which featured Avery and Navarro in 1994 just after the initial Jane’s Addiction breakup. Their sole self-titled album had Avery and Navarros sharing vocal duties as well as Gibby Haynes.
