Charvel Unveils Frank Bello Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal Bass PJ IV

After unveiling a custom shop signature bass earlier this year, Charvel has introduced a production line bass for Anthrax and Helmet bassist Frank Bello. The Frank Bello Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal Bass PJ IV offers many of the same features as his custom model with a lower price point.
The bass is built with a poplar body, a graphite-reinforced maple neck, and a maple fingerboard with a 12”-16” compound radius. Its 22 jumbo frets are marked by black block inlays. Charvel loads the axe with Bello’s signature EMG P/J pickups with individual volume controls.
Other features include a Charvel HiMass bridge, a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, and open-gear tuners. The bass comes in one color – black – with a mirror pickguard, which pays homage to Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott.
Hear the bass in the hands of Bello himself:
The Charvel Frank Bello Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal Bass PJ IV is available now for $1,299.
