NOFX Releases “Double Album”
NOFX has followed up last year’s Single Album with the appropriately titled Double Album.
“They were supposed to go together, but then I only released one of them,” bassist/vocalist Fat Mike told Apple Music. “Double Album wasn’t done. But it’s funny, too, because Double Album is a 10-song double album.”
The playful title also carries in spirit into the music’s subject matter, with Mike saying that it isn’t a serious album. It kicks off with a blistering bass line on “Darby Crashing Your Party.”
“Originally ‘My Favorite Enemy,’ the second song, was the first track,” he says. “But I think the percussion on this song just sounds really cool because it comes in really big, and the bassline’s kind of sick. I’m not making a statement; it’s just more of a poetic song. It’s a lot of wordplay: ‘That’s why I push my chips GG All-in.’ I had fun writing it and not making it a serious statement.”
Double Album is available now on CD, vinyl, and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
