Hawktail Announces Winter 2023 Tour
Punch Brothers bassist Paul Kowert and his instrumental quartet Hawktail have just announced a round of tour dates for the winter that will kick off on January 20th in Bloomington, Illinois. The tour will be in support of their latest album, Place Of Growth, which was released in August.
Hawktail will be all over the U.S., with a handful of dates in the Midwest before heading to California and the Pacific Northwest. They’ll then head to the East Coast to open for vocalist Aoife O’Donovan for three dates and wrap things up with shows in Vermont and Maine.
Place of Growth features lots of great bass melodies, and Kowert has a spectacular tone. Check out the closer, “Big Sun,”, followed by a video of the bassist explaining his compositional process for it.
