Victor Wooten and The Wooten Brothers Announce Fall Tour

Victor Wooten and The Wooten Brothers

The Wooten Brothers are about the head down under for a week’s worth of gigs in Australia. Before taking the flight, they’ve announced a new fall tour across the East Coast with the Rebirth Brass Band that will run from September 28th to October 12th. The family band includes brothers Joseph, Roy, Regi, and – of course – Victor Wooten.

“Being in a band with my brothers is the best thing for me,” the bassist says. “It’s like a family reunion every time we get together to play. They are my teachers, and I feel most at home with them.”

The outing begins in Chattanooga, Tennessee and will head as far south as Atlanta, Georgia and as far north as Portland, Maine. In addition to the tour, The Wootens have revealed they’re working on a studio album, which will be their first in decades. It will be in memory of their late brother, Rudy, who passed in 2010.

“The music we are working on at the moment is a collection of new and old,” the Wootens write. “We have songs that were recorded decades ago that have never been heard by anyone. We also have newer music that was recorded over the last year. It will be a nice collection of old and new. With the older music, we want to introduce the world to Rudy, our saxophone-playing brother who passed away in 2010. Be prepared to have your mind blown.”
