Fender Launches Limited Edition Mikey Way Jazz Bass

Fender Limited Edition Mikey Way Jazz Bass

Fender has unveiled a new signature instrument for 2023 with the Limited Edition Mikey Way Jazz Bass. The My Chemical Romance bassist’s new axe comes in a Silver Sparkle finish with a black painted headstock to match his style.

“As the bassist for recently reunited icons My Chemical Romance, Mikey Way’s passionate playing, distinctive style and knack for genre-bending sonic exploration have made him a hugely influential figure in emo, punk rock and beyond,” Fender writes. “The Mikey Way Jazz Bass combines bold design and killer tones for a serious instrument that demands attention.”

The bass, built with an alder body and maple neck, takes many of its appointments from the ’70s Jazz models. That includes a ’70s “C”-shaped maple neck with block inlays and black binding and a pair of vintage-style ’70s single-coil pickups. Even the hardware is old school with a vintage-style 4-saddle bridge, ’70s style “Fender” stamped tuners, and a “Bullet” style truss rod nut. Finally, Way’s signature adorns the back of the headstock.

Fender’s Limited Edition Mikey Way Jazz Bass is available now for $1,499.
