Primus, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle Announce Final “Sessanta” Tour Dates
In 2014, three legendary bands came together for a one-night celebration of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan’s 50th birthday. That event, called “Cinquanta,” has expanded into a fully fledged tour for 2024, which will mark the singer’s 60th birthday.
Primus, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle have announced the expansion of the tour, stating it will be the final dates for the outing. Beginning April 2nd and 3rd with two nights in Boston, the tour will hit spots across the East Coast, South, and West Coast before tacking on a few dates in the Midwest. The final date is slated for May 4th in Forest Hills, New York.
Each of the three bands will be performing a set of their own music. However, all of the band members – including bassists Les Claypool, Greg Edwards, and Matt McJunkins – will be joining each other’s performances throughout the night for a continually transforming night of music.
“What a glorious notion of combining three bands that all start with the letter ‘P’ for a tribute to Maynard Keenan’s 60th trip around the sun,” Claypool marvels. “I’ve known Maynard for more than three decades and I have to say, I’ve yet to meet a more creative, ambitious and industrious human being; that is assuming he is actually human. Often his perspective and output are more ‘extraterrestrial’ than that of this planet so, It wouldn’t surprise me if he has some sort ‘Prometheus’ type DNA deep in his marrow.”
