After taking a break from the band earlier this year, Jimbo Hart has announced that he has officially left Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The bassist, who co-founded the group with the songwriter, made the announcement on X.

“I’m no longer a member of the 400 Unit,” he wrote. “I’m grateful for all the years, all the faces I’ve played for in the course of the band’s history and proud of all we accomplished. I’m happy to be moving forward into a new chapter of life and open to all possibilities, as they may arise.”

Isbell was asked on X for a comment and replied, “I love Jimbo and I’ll miss touring and playing with him. Very glad he’s taking care of himself. Everything else anybody needs to know is in the statement he released.”

Hart’s role during touring this year has been filled in part by Anna Butterss, Cat Popper, and other guests. The band has not named a permanent replacement.

We’re wishing the best to Jimbo!
