Bryan Beller and The Aristocrats Announce First Studio Album in Five Years
After teasing it last month, The Aristocrats have revealed the details of their upcoming album, which marks their first studio record in five years. DUCK is a concept album that is described as “rowdier than ever, but… like nothing else in their catalog.”
Aristocrats bassist Bryan Beller shared the news along with the band’s statement on the album’s creation.
“It is the story of a web-footed Antarctic Island native fleeing a penguin policeman all the way to New York City… where considerable misadventure and danger await,” they explain. “We’ve always been writing with a storytelling aspect in mind, and our live shows always include our stories behind the songs… But the stories had mainly been about us. Then Marco came into the studio with a song about a duck, and we all looked at each other and said, ‘What if all of the stories for the songs on this album… happened to a duck? What’s that story about?’ And suddenly we had a concept album on our hands.”
DUCK will be released on February 16th, 2024, in standard, deluxe, and vinyl formats. The Aristocrats have announced a week of tour dates to coincide with the release focusing on the West Coast. We’ll keep you updated with more details as they become available.
