Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey & Bryan Beller Fuse Funk and Metal in WesFest 2025 Showstopper
WesFest 20 brought a heavy moment when Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey and Bryan Beller took the stage for a monster mashup of Black Sabbath’s “N.I.B.” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”
The trio lit it up with deep pocket and fearless improvisation. Beller handled the Sabbath riff with power and precision. Wooten and Bailey stretched out, Bailey on fretless, Wooten doing Wooten things. It was a tightrope walk between metal and funk, pulled off with groove and grit.
It’s the kind of performance that sums up what WesFest is all about. Celebration, musicianship and pushing the instrument forward.
