Salsa bass lines can be fun as well as challenging, which is why bassist Álvaro Martín Gómez Acevedo has published a new transcription book called “20 Salsa Basslines for Electric Bass Guitar.”

For many years, I’ve loved the records of Jaco Pastorius during Herbie Hancock’s 1977 tour. Jaco was 25 at the time. Music Universe put together this video of three of Jaco’s solos during the tour, spanning three cities.

Del Palmer, the longtime bassist for Kate Bush, has died at the age of 71. His family confirmed the news, though a cause of death was not announced.
