ESP Announces the LTD Signature Series Mike Leon MLB-4

ESP LTD Signature Series Mike Leon MLB-4 Bass

ESP introduced the MLB-4 bass at NAMM this year in collaboration with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy bassist Mike Leon. His signature bass is based on the LTD B Series basses that he’s used for years.

“Inspired by the design of Mike’s ESP Custom Shop bass, the MLB-4 makes its unique impression with a textured sandblasted finish on its swamp ash body, a complementing black satin headstock, and a silky smooth open-pore finish on the back of its extra-thin five-piece wenge/purpleheart neck,” ESP writes. “Designed to handle the rigors of touring, this bass features sturdy 6-bolt construction and a 35” scale for delving into the lower sonic registers.”

The bass’s Macassar ebony fingerboard has offset mother-of-pearl dot inlays and 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. For electronics, the bass has a pair of Nordstrand Big Splits and an ABQ-3MS preamp. Finally, the hardware includes Gotoh tuners and a Gotoh 404BO-4 hardtail bridge.

The ESP LTD Signature Series Mike Leon MLB-4 will be shipping soon at $2,099.
