Cindy Blackman Santana Announces Tour Dates with Felix Pastorius on Bass
Drummer Cindy Blackman Santana is back on the road this year with her solo jazz band, which always has a stellar lineup. Her group will include guitarist Aurélien Budynek, saxophonist Emilio Modeste, pianist Zaccai Curtis, saxophonist JD Allen (for select NYC shows), and bassist Felix Pastorius.
“I’m thrilled to bring my band to the East Coast! We’re excited to connect with the audience and share the energy and passion we bring to the music,” Blackman Santana says.
The band will focus on the East Coast with three dates in March and eight shows in July. See below for the itinerary.
Pastorius has been in Blackman Santana’s stable of musicians for some time. Check out his flow on the Tony Williams composition “Wildlife” from a 2023 performance at the San Francisco Jazz Festival.
Aside from the solo tour, Blackman Santana will be on tour with her husband, Carlos Santana, with plans for a solo album release this year, as well.
