Berklee Announces the 2024 Spring Bass Bash

Berklee Bass Department Spring Bass Bash 2024

Boston will be rumbling on March 26th with a bass event of epic proportions. The Berklee College of Music’s Bass Department has announced the Spring Bass Bash, which will feature a veritable Mount Rushmore of bassists. The school will be hosting a week of events with bass legends Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller, who will be joining Berklee Artist Victor Wooten.

Berklee says the trio will be revisiting the past and innovating the future of bass.

The week will wrap up with a concert of the trio, which formerly performed as SMV. The show will feature Bass Extremes, which has Wooten teaming up with Steve Bailey (who is the head of the Berklee bass department) and drummer Gregg Bissonette.

“This has been a longtime in the works and will be surrounded by days of events with these folks as well as Lenny White and Anthony Jackson,” Bailey wrote on Facebook.

The concert is free and open to the public. Bailey also says it will be streamed for those around the world who can’t attend. Check the Berklee website for more details.

Until then, let’s jam with some SMV:
