Singer, composer, and actor Lyle Lovett has announced a lengthy summer tour with his Large Band. The 15-piece ensemble is anchored by the bearded bass master Leland Sklar, who has been working with Lovett for four decades.

“The upcoming performances will feature songs from across Lovett’s extensive catalog, including his latest album, 12th of June, which was produced by Lovett and Chuck Ainlay,” a press release explains. “Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the record further highlights Lovett’s ability to fuse elements of jazz, country, western swing, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.”

Lovett will be on the road with his Acoustic Group (also typically anchored by Sklar) this month. The Large Band dates begin June 22nd in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will focus mostly on the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. See below for Lovett’s full schedule.
