Stone Temple Pilots and Live Team Up for Jubilee Tour
1994 was a great year for rock. Some of the most iconic and influential albums were released that year, including Purple from the Stone Temple Pilots and Throwing Copper by Live. Now, the two bands are teaming up for a tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their landmark records.
The Jubilee Tour will see the bands kick things off in Concord, California, on August 16th and snake across the South before curling up the East Coast. The final date is slated for September 15th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Purple was STP’s second studio album and sold over 6 million copies with hits like “Vasoline,” “Big Empty,” and “Interstate Love Song,” which features a killer bass line by Robert DeLeo.
Similarly, Throwing Copper was Live’s third album with hits like “Selling the Drama,” “I Alone,” and “Lightning Crashes.” Bassist Patrick Dahlheimer recorded the album but was replaced in 2022 by Chris Heerlein after some band drama.
