1. Solar Guitars Introduces the Type E Bass
Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars has so far only had one bass style, but they’ve just fixed that the introduction of the Type E Bass. Available in four or five-string versions, they call the new axe “the most brutal bass ever crafted.”

3. Kala Updates the California U-Bass for 2024
A decade after its introduction, Kala’s California U-Bass is getting a facelift. The solid-body, ukulele-sized bass has been updated to a “more adjustable version of the instrument that maintains its stylistic and tonal integrity.”
4. Bass of the Week: GV Guitars Jules Black Hole
GV Guitars has a cool bass model called the Jules, which has a cool and funky body shape. They also built one for a customer called the Jules Black Hole, which has a killer black sparkle finish and some cool features.

Get ready to work up a sweat, because Joe Hubbard has launched a new instructional book. “Intense Bass Warm-Up Guide” aims to help elevate your technique while getting you ready for the gig.
6. Bootsy Collins Announces New Album
Bootsy Collins has announced a new solo album. “Album of the Year #1 Funkateer” will mark the funk legend’s 23rd studio record.
7. Lake Street Dive Returns with “Good Together”
Lake Street Dive has released their new album, “Good Together,” which expands on their sound as each member contributed to the music in its earliest stages. They gathered in drummer Mike Calabrese’s Vermont home to work together from the beginning.
