Epiphone Introduces Jack Casady Fretless Bass

Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna bassist Jack Casady has had a signature Epiphone semi-hollow bass for many years, but the rock legend has shaken things up with a fretless version. The Epiphone Jack Casady Fretless Bass is described as the culmination of the bassist’s years of experimentation. As such, it is fitted with a JCB-1 Low-Impedance Humbucker pickup that he designed himself. A three-position rotary impedance control offers a wide tonal palette.
The archtop body is built with layered maple with an LP Signature Bass shape. It also has a single-ply cream binding. Its glued-in neck is made from mahogany fitted with a fretless laurel fingerboard sans inlays. Other features include an Aged Royal Tan finish, a cream pickguard, die-cast tuners, and a 3-point adjustable bridge.
The Epiphone Jack Casady Fretless Bass carries a street price of $849.

Epiphone has to stop using those ugly laurel fretboards. Every now and then, one looks ok, but, more often they look like the ugly one in the photo.
Jack cassidy listen to electric ladyland voodoo child long version that’s Jack’s bass driving jimi along. Also the the live winter landland album. Noel Redding playing back on 6 string electric guitar… David Taylor… Bass guitar collector… Thanks…
I just bought a fretted version in the pedum blue this would be cool if it still had the frett markers like alot of fender fretless basses have if it did i would consider it and on top of that the neck just being plane is a turn off for me in my opinion no hate please.
