Aaron Parks Releases “Little Big III” with David Ginyard, Jr.
Pianist/composer Aaron Parks has returned with Little Big III, which marks the third album with his band Little Big. The quartet also includes guitarist Greg Tuohey, drummer Jongkuk Kim, and bass guru David Ginyard, Jr.
Park says the recording is evidence of the band’s musical growth. “While this record feels the most supple and alive,” he explains, “it also feels like the most focused album Little Big has recorded — the most distilled down to the essence.”
To support the ensemble, Ginyard delivers beautiful tones to Little Big III. He especially gets to shine on the song “Sports,” which starts with his bass line and includes a solo spot.
