Stuart Clayton Publishes “The 80s Bass Book”

The 80s Bass Book

Bassist and educator Stuart Clayton is at it again with a new transcription book. The 80s Bass Book compiles 18 songs from the biggest artists of the decade. Rather than standard 80s repertoire, the list focuses on the most impressive bass playing.

“The basslines transcribed here are some of the low-end highlights of the decade, and feature the work of bassists such as Pino Palladino, Marcus Miller, Tracy Wormworth, Nathan East, Mark King, Tony Levin, Nick Beggs, Freddie Washington, and more,” the description reads.

The transcriptions are written in both standard notation and TAB. Clayton also offers a detailed analysis of each line, from performance techniques to the gear used to reference recordings.

The 80s Bass Book is available now through Bassline Publishing and Amazon.
