Aguilar Revamps Tone Hammer Preamp Pedal, Launches amPlug3 Tone Hammer
Aguilar Amplification’s Tone Hammer lineup has two new additions for 2024: the amPlug3 Tone Hammer and a reimagined version of the Tone Hammer Preamp pedal.
First up, the amPlug3 Tone Hammer is a portable headphone amplifier that lets you practice anywhere. Inspired by the Tone Hammer’s tone, the unit has dual channel Clean and Drive modes as well as built-in reverb, chorus, and compression. It also has a built-in rhythm feature for keeping time. Finally, it has AUX connectivity for playing along with tracks or recording straight to a phone or laptop.
Aguilar revamped the Tone Hammer Preamp pedal to enhance the drive functionality with a wider gain range and a separate “drive” control.
“New Practice-friendly features include the addition of a headphone output and auxiliary input, allowing the pedal to double as the perfect practice companion at home or on the road,” Aguilar writes. “The updated, compact enclosure has a modern aesthetic, complementing the Tone Hammer series of amplifiers.”
The Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp Pedal is $299.99, while the amPlug3 Tone Hammer costs $59.99.
