Widespread Panic Releases Second EP for 2024, “Hailbound Queen”
Widespread Panic has been having a year of ups and downs. In the spring, they released a six-song EP called Snake Oil King. After setting tour dates throughout the year, they were forced to cancel their remaining 2024 shows after Jimmy Herring was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in July. Luckily, he immediately sought treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
They’ve started rolling out dates for 2025 and have just released another album. Hailbound Queen is another EP with five songs the group calls fan favorites alongside new standout tracks.
“These new songs have happily made their way into Widespread Panic’s live performances and fans’ hearts,” the band writes.
One of the songs is “Trashy” by Bloodkin, which is a dreamy mid-tempo song anchored by the tasteful bass of Dave Schools.
Hailbound Queen also has a cover of Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart” alongside three more Widespread originals. The EP is out now digitally through iTunes, Amazon, and more.
Hailbound Queen Track List:
