Ernie Ball Music Man Launches 2024 Limited Edition Version of the Tim Commerford StingRay Bass

Ernie Ball Music Man Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass Blue

In addition to refreshing John Myung’s Bongo 6 bass, Ernie Ball Music Man has announced new finishes for the Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay. The bass’s limited color set includes an Xavier Green finish for the active model and Quentin Blue for the passive bass. Each finish is limited to 50 pieces worldwide.

When the model was originally launched in 2021, EBMM offered it in full-scale or short-scale options. The 2024 run is full-scale only. The basses are built with an ash body, roasted maple neck, ebony fretboard, and a neodymium humbucker. They do retain some of the unique features of the Commerford signature.

“The string-through-body bridge with a mute kit enhances sustain and control, while black hardware and a custom, height-adjustable “finger ramp” thumb rest – inspired by Commerford’s playing style – provide added comfort and flexibility,” the company writes.

The Ernie Ball Music Man Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass carry street prices of $3,099.
